A Student Emmy Nominee and hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Michael has worked in various aspects of filmmaking over the last 8 years. Recently returning to the creative side of filmmaking, Michael earned his Masters of Fine Arts degree in Television Production at Brooklyn College. In 2016 he produced a 7 episode live streamed web series titled Brooklyn Best, a reality competition variety show featuring fresh Brooklyn talent and hosted by comedienne, J.J. Matisse. Brooklyn's Best has been selected as a contender for the Student Emmy's 2017 Variety category. Most recently, Michael wrote and directed a comedic short film that is touring the festival scene.
Michael’s experience started out purely on the technical side of the industry. While pursuing his bachelor's degree at Brooklyn College, he managed equipment distribution for the Film Department, mentoring students on industry techniques and technologies. Michael has been the cinematographer for several films, earning him a festival nominations. He also co-owned and operated an equipment rental house that served camera, lighting and sound needs for productions around New York City.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys exploring various cuisines in the New York City area, with a current quest to try every BBQ restaurant in the New York City metro area. When not indulging his inner glutton, he goes on leisurely bicycle rides through Brooklyn and Queens in search of unexplored neighborhoods. Still a technician at heart, he also designs and builds custom power and signal distribution equipment to use on his films. Michael looks forward to developing new projects, networking and eventually direct for narrative television.
